The Story Behind This Account
Launched this account in late 2019 when I was studying fashion marketing at uni in Manchester. Started with basic outfit posts and thrift finds from Northern Quarter – nothing groundbreaking, just sharing what I wore and where I found affordable pieces.
The account picked up steam when I started mixing high street with vintage finds and actually showing people where to shop in the UK without breaking the bank. Turns out loads of women were fed up with seeing £800 handbags they couldn’t afford. My audience was mostly 25-40 year old women who wanted style on a realistic budget.
By 2025, I’d graduated and landed a proper job at a marketing agency in London. Problem was, keeping up with consistent posts while working 50-hour weeks became impossible. You know what they say – you can’t have your cake and eat it too. I could either do my day job properly or run the account well, but not both.
Sold it for $480 USD which felt fair considering I wasn’t posting regularly anymore and the engagement had dipped a bit. The buyer runs a sustainable fashion brand, so the account’s in good hands. They’ve actually improved it since taking over, which is nice to see.

My Honest Rating (As the Previous Owner)
★★★★☆
Really good community vibe. Women actually asked where I bought things and shared their own finds in comments.
★★★★★
Massive potential if someone actually has time to post Reels consistently. I just didn’t have the bandwidth.
★★★★☆
Pretty loyal considering I went weeks without posting toward the end. Still got decent engagement when I did show up.
★★★☆☆
Had a few brand inquiries but never pursued them properly. The new owner is doing affiliate marketing which seems to work well.
Questions Buyers Asked Me
Q: Why such a low price?
Honestly? I hadn’t posted properly in about 3 months and engagement had dropped from what it used to be. Didn’t feel right asking for more when I wasn’t actively maintaining it.
Q: Are the followers real people or bots?
All organic. I never bought followers or used those dodgy growth services. You can tell from the comment quality – actual conversations, not generic emojis.
Q: What type of content got the most engagement?
Outfit breakdowns with prices always did well. Also, anything comparing high street dupes to designer pieces. People loved knowing they could recreate looks affordably.
Q: Did you have any partnerships or contracts still active?
Nope, everything was clean. I’d done a couple gifted collaborations ages ago but nothing ongoing. Buyer could start fresh with their own partnerships.
